Do NOT buy this refrigerator - Bad from start

Giving the refrigerator 1 star and would give GE customer service/customer care a zero if possible. We are extremely disappointed in this refrigerator we bought from GE. The water dispenser has had a constant drip since we bought it and had it installed in April. We have had 3 service visits so far and the first one said nothing is wrong, the second guy ordered a part and made a temporary fix that made the dispenser operate even worse and ordered a part that was on backorder. Then the 3rd guy (who was out to fix our GE washer) looked at the fridge and said he didn™€™t even think the part ordered was the right size but I could wait until the next visit to verify. Not offering to help me figure out during the visit. Not counting the service visits, I have tried calling customer service/customer care many times and they could never help with any questions I had or next steps. They asked me to send videos but then said it was up to the service techs distinction. There is no continuity and it seems they like to just send you in circles to avoid actually fixing anything or trying to help. It is such a waste of resources to have that many people come out to not be able to identify what exactly an issue is. Would highly recommend no one buys GE products. We would return if there was a way, now just hoping that someone at GE will be a good human being and help get this fixed or offer another solution.

Refrigerator has no way to level it, and on a level floor it inherently leans back. Was very difficult to get to lineup inside the housing of my counter depth refrigerator. Wheels in front and back roll well.

Worst Refrigerator I've Ever Had

This is the world's WORST refrigerator. I runs CONSTANTLY, using far more energy than any refrigerator I've ever had. And when it's running, it sounds like a helicopter in my home, the NOISE drowns out everything. The shelving levels do NOT accommodate the typical height of grocery store-sized packaging for juice and milk (maybe it was designed for European or Asian consumer markets?). It has VERY LIMITED temperature settings for the freezer and refrigerator compartments. And despite GE's claims, it is NOT fingerprint resistant. Do NOT waste your money on this model.

BEWARE: defective unit, poor (no) service

BEWARE™€¦ this unit has lots of nice features but when it arrived and was plugged in a day later, it ran continuously and the freezer temp has plummeted to -15°F, which is well below the +6° set point. There is clearly something wrong with the logic board but GE Service promises to have a repair person call and each day they don™€™t and I have had to try to reach them over and over again. This is not what you want when you™€™re buying a brand new appliance I would suggest you look elsewhere.

The water and ice dispenser stopped working even though I replaced the water filter every 2™€“3 months, even though the manufacturer recommends replacing it only every 6 months. I installed a new filter on June 1, and by June 20 the water dispenser had already stopped working. The ice maker is just as bad. Instead of producing loose ice cubes, the ice quickly clumps together into one large frozen block, preventing the ice from dispensing properly. This refrigerator has been a huge disappointment. I maintained it properly and still experienced these problems. I would not recommend buying this refrigerator. I contacted GE customer service many times, but they were not helpful. Each time, they simply told me to buy another new water filter, even though replacing the filter did not solve the problem. This refrigerator is only 10 months old. It has been giving me the problem from the beginning. _______________________________________________________________________________ I received the response from GE. GE also suggested that the problem might be caused by hard water. I do not believe that explanation because other homes in my neighborhood use the same water supply and have not experienced these issues with their refrigerators. I was also surprised when GE suggested that I try operating the refrigerator without the water filter. I found that recommendation unacceptable because I prefer to use a water filter for health and water quality. Rather than addressing what appears to be a defect with the refrigerator, I felt that GE offered explanations and suggestions that did not resolve the underlying problem. Based on my experience with both the refrigerator and GE's customer service, I cannot recommend this product. DO NO BUY ANY GE PRODUCT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT EVEN IT IS UNDER WARRANTY!!!

So far, after 2 months I have 2 major complaints. The thermostat for the refrigerator is way off. Everything is freezing near the back of the compartment. I have it set now for 43 degrees just to get to 35 which is still too cold. Right now it is 34 degrees inside with a 43 degree setting. Second, the freezer has a top drawer that always slides out with the bottom drawer and half the time it gets stuck there. You have to put it back in the track, but it still moves forward and covers the bottom drawer every time.

Fits great in space. Doors are not tight enough so they swing open too easily. Tried leveling but doesn™€™t work. Water/ice tray is bad. Should have a drip catch tray. Print of Ice Cubes, Water, Temperature, etc. print is way to light. Cannot read at all unless you have a light up close to panel. No butter compartment. Otherwise it™€™s acceptable and functional.

Noisy when compressor running. Knocking sounds and just generally loud. Love the configuration. Easy to store tall 1 gallon containers in. Seems very energy conservative. No problem with freezing using new r 600 refrigerant. Does scatter ice sometimes. Small ice compartment.

Brand new refrigerator. Looks big but short shelves and very small drawers. Can barely fit produce. Shelves can™€™t hold much. Windfall the time. Set in 34 and inside temp can only reach 40 degrees. Once opened it loses coolness. Has never worked properly since delivered. Do not buy GE. Lowe™€™s has 48 hour return. But it takes 24 hours to get fridge to running right. So you™€™re stuck with it. It™€™s new and needs repair

GOING ON DAY TEN WITHOUT REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER . I am a senior with terrible arthritis is my hands and knees and I have been forced to buy and carry 100 POUNDS OF ICE to keep in a cooler for food and beverage so far. A two month old refrigerator with a bad compressor. Parts are being shipped and not even overnight ELDERLY ABUSE!!!! I cannot have ice packs to smooth my pain. I want a replacement or a refund. If not, I will be forced to call my local television station and show them the lack of empathy from a Pioneer of American Industry. Less than two months old and NO COOLING OR REFRIGERATION. It worked well to start but all of a sudden I heard some intermittent tic tack sounds and I open the freezer and everything is thawed. The refrigerator is at 77 degrees. GE sends a company out that is not qualified to fix the ™€œseal™€ issue problem so I am left, on a Thursday at 5pm. Waiting for GE to find the correct tech. I am so disappointed that I have to live with a repairs two month old refrigerator.Not sure why Consumer Reports would recommend this.???? Disappointed and waiting and having to keep thing cold in a cooler. This is not a third workd country, I paid dearly for this refrigerator!!!!

Not as good as the older model. The door configuration is different and I have to place my things on different shelves. Not understanding, as it's the same model. Also the drawers in the freezer are very thin and not as good. Also, when freezer is opened it al so pulls out the top drawers which irritates me. I suspect it may be wrongly installed and will have to empty the drawes and try to get it to work properly. Otherwise ok.

I've had this fridge for about a year now, purchased when the old fridge broke. I'm too disappointed to post pictures right now: Ice/water dispenser, worked intermittently, then failed completely. Freezer drawer is difficult to use. Shelves break easily, plastic fronts crack and fall off. Sliding shelf broke completely. Parts are difficult to order, i.e. part number in the diagram doesn't match the part in the fridge (left and right sides are mixed up). Parts are not in stock / available. Shelf order is at 90+ days and counting. Smaller inside than expected. Storage shelves on the do are poorly designed and don't it most items (small shelf on dispenser door and right side). Everything about this appliance feels cheap and poorly made, it is a disappointment and a source of stress in my life. It's cold. That's it.

Honestly, my 20 year old fridge broke, and I was looking for something that was in stock and could be delivered ASAP. I didn™€™t do much research other than knowing I wanted a counter-depth fridge. I lucked out! This fridge is super sleek, has a lot of room, and fits perfectly in the space. I especially love the counter-depth size. The only thing is that the ice maker can be a little loud, but my old fridge didn™€™t have one that worked, so it could actually be that I™€™m just not used to it because I have nothing to compare to. This is a great product and I know it being GE, I™€™ll be able to rely on it for years!

Not great. Can't get into one side without opening both doors because the ice maker is so bulky. The ice maker is very weak and doesn't consistently make ice. Everything on the fridge is a lower quality and sturdiness than the LG we had previously. Wouldn't recommend or buy again.

Purchases my GE refrigerator/Freezer back in 10/25 and I'm loving it so far. The only issue that I have had was the ice gotten frozen and wouldn't dispense. I love the design!

Bought this for replacement in our motor home. We had time constraints to get it installed and the size was was of course restricted. But for it's size, 22cuft, disappointed in the shelving ... Very limited flexibility. And the freezer is surprisingly small and difficult to access food items. If I had realized how much this was going to affect use I would have opted to wait and find a better frig. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Stops Running within 30 Days

The GE Energy Star 20.cu. Ft. Fingerprint Resistant Counter- Depth French-Door Refrigerator is less than 30 days old and stopped running over Thanksgiving weekend. I tried reaching out to Boswell and their support center is closed. Every call directs you to use their online system. The first appointment date is 3 weeks away and they want to charge a $114.95 trip charge!! This is terrible customer service

Home builder incentive

Home builder incentive. Food and frozen goods went bad due to compressor not working. Took 2 whole weeks to get repaired because GE contracts repairs out to 3rd party. GE rep scheduled a appt time. Repair rep never showed, followed up with GE and rep said we™€™re supposed to make appt not them, however that wasn™€™t the case with first GE rep. None the less it got repaired, I hate it. But it™€™ll have to until after holidays and until we can find a different brand then I can trash it or hopefully make $50 off it.
